Ramakanth’s paintings and drawings are constructed with the help of dynamic contours, which create a sense of mannerism. The masses of lines and the disfiguration show how the artist makes an effort to bring about emotions through these fundamentals. His choice of uncomplicated palette evokes a kind of serenity and solace. His use of thin colour layers often conceals and reveals a different kind of aesthetic realm as he deliberately washes them creating a gentle lyrical quality. His fondness for mannerist rendition that suits his temperament is apparently visible in his drawings. The art works demonstrate a graphic quality even though the lines are merging in themselves and submerging into the surfaces. Probably, this is what the artist tries to achieve by creating soothing textures and transparent surfaces.
